Detail Three of Bloodroot Story, 'Bloodroot Flowers Emerging'; 2018; colored pencils, graphite pencils and pastels. Small Bloodroot plants are portrayed emerging from the ground in early Spring. Leaves are drawn blowing around them in the wind. The leaves will soon be disappearing, as suggested by outlined leaves, either rotting away or as settling mulch under plant vegetation.
